Creating Five Free Digital Products from Repurposed Content

Chapter 1: The Value of Repurposing Content
Building an email list often involves offering a valuable product or lead magnet that encourages downloads. The key is to provide something that resonates with your target audience. Initially, I questioned whether I had anything of real value to share, but inspiration struck when I read several stories from writers on Medium. Their insights revealed a simple approach: revisit your previous content and consider how to repackage it into a new freebie.
I realized I could leverage my existing YouTube channel, which features multiple step-by-step tutorials that received positive feedback, to create new digital products. Thus began my journey into crafting ebooks and guides based on those videos.
How I Developed My New Freebies
To streamline the process, I followed ten straightforward steps:
- Reviewed my videos to identify the most promising options.
- Designed an ebook cover using Canva.
- Created a simple one-page template in Google Docs.
- Drafted a brief introduction for each video on the template.
- Incorporated the YouTube thumbnail into the one-page layout.
- Linked to the video within the document.
- Designed a basic sales banner for the ebook using Canva.
- Uploaded the ebook to Gumroad.
- Published the product.
- Repeated the process for other suitable videos.
Here’s a list of the ebooks and guides I’ve created:
- How to Start a Free Newsletter with Gumroad
- How to Upload Your Book to Amazon KDP
- How to Create a Low Content Book in Canva
- How I Wrote a Short Story Using ChatGPT
- How to Set Up an Etsy Store
My philosophy revolves around generating income from my hobbies in a relaxed manner. I’ve prepared all the guides, but I still need to finalize the sales banners and upload the remaining items to Gumroad. I aim to complete this by the end of next week.
Chapter 2: Simplifying the Process
It took some time to determine what to include in the ebooks. Initially, I thought I needed to produce extensive content to justify calling it an ebook. However, I soon realized that people prefer concise, direct information. This led me to create one-page ebooks or guides, cutting through the unnecessary details.
I look forward to sharing my progress in a future post.
Now, I’d love to hear from you: Do you have any outdated content that could be transformed into a new product? Have you attempted this before?
