Chapter 1: The Importance of Health
Good health is arguably the most crucial element in our lives. Even with wealth, fulfilling careers, meaningful relationships, and exciting hobbies, we cannot fully appreciate them without good health. Unfortunately, when life becomes hectic, health often becomes a lesser priority. We tend to overlook essential aspects such as adequate sleep, nutrition, and exercise. Recently, I have committed to integrating productivity strategies into my health regimen. Here, I will share eight straightforward health hacks that have enhanced my life, and I hope they can benefit yours as well.
Before we jump into these valuable tips, don’t forget to follow Daily Dose Of Life and share your favorite habit in the comments!
Section 1.1: 1. The 3–2–1 Method for Improved Sleep
According to the CDC, one in three adults in the United States does not get enough sleep. To enhance sleep quality, I utilize the 3–2–1 method:
- 3: Stop eating three hours before you go to bed.
- 2: Avoid consuming liquids two hours before sleep.
- 1: Eliminate screen time (especially your phone) one hour prior to bedtime. Instead, choose a Kindle or a physical book to relax.
Section 1.2: 2. Aim for 10,000 Steps Daily
Inactivity is associated with various health risks. Aiming for 10,000 steps each day is an excellent goal for better health. I achieve this by:
- Using a treadmill under my standing desk.
- Taking work calls and video meetings while walking.
- Choosing to walk instead of driving or using public transport for short distances.
Subsection 1.2.1: 3. Reducing Stress Through Meditation
High stress can adversely affect health. I’ve added meditation into my daily routine by using the Headspace app, which has been shown to lower stress levels, reduce blood pressure, and enhance focus.

Subsection 1.2.2: 4. Assessing Body Composition with Dexa Scans
Dexa scans offer an accurate evaluation of muscle and fat distribution in the body. Regular scans have allowed me to monitor my progress and adjust my fitness and nutrition plans accordingly.
Section 1.3: 5. Streamlining Protein Intake
Protein is vital for muscle development and overall health. I’ve made my protein intake more consistent by starting each day with a protein shake, ensuring I meet my daily requirements.
Section 1.4: 6. Enhancing Flexibility and Mobility
Flexibility and mobility are essential for preventing injuries during workouts. I’ve incorporated stretching routines from YouTube and various apps into my daily regimen to enhance my flexibility. This is particularly beneficial as I think about maintaining strength in my later years.
Subsection 1.4.1: 7. Using the Docette Box for Medication Adherence
Staying consistent with supplements or medications can be challenging. I’ve found that using a weekly pill organizer like the Docette Box is extremely helpful for keeping me on track.
Section 1.5: 8. Following an Evidence-Based Skincare Routine
Maintaining healthy skin is important, and a straightforward, evidence-based skincare routine with three dermatologist-recommended products has made a significant difference for me. More details can be found in my skincare routine video.
