We all possess immense potential for creativity. Remember, never give up on your dreams.

The key takeaway from this discussion is that you have the freedom to become whoever you aspire to be. After analyzing countless financial figures, I discovered I had a story of 30,000 words within me.
Trained as a chartered accountant, I have transitioned into life coaching and am on the verge of publishing a book. Had I not summoned the bravery to leave my old career, I wouldn’t have found the motivation to write regularly or embark on this book project. Writing is not merely about talent or achieving bestseller status; it's about nurturing your spirit and redefining yourself despite societal expectations.
In this section, I’ll share how my thought process evolved during the creation of my book, with hopes that it encourages you to chase your own aspirations or even pen your own narrative.
Section 1.1: The Weight of Imposter Syndrome
Imposter syndrome often rears its head when we are between significant milestones. For those unfamiliar, this term describes a psychological pattern where individuals doubt their abilities and harbor an ongoing fear of being exposed as frauds.
As someone who strives for excellence, I’ve constantly grappled with imposter syndrome. My thoughts often echoed:
- I need another degree to feel adequate.
- I require more work experience to pursue that role.
- I should accumulate decades of life experience before I can coach.
The reality is, I will never feel fully prepared, and neither will you. The moment to act is now.
Thus, I began my writing journey, committing to one page a day. Each day, I had to silence the doubts that whispered I was foolish for believing I could author a book. I resolved to ignore those voices.
Section 1.2: Discovering Medium
Medium became instrumental in my writing journey. It took me a long time to share my first post, which happened during a chaotic week when I had to return home from Vancouver in March 2020. With the world seemingly on the brink of chaos, I felt an unexpected urge to follow my dreams, thinking that if we were all facing uncertain times, perhaps nobody would notice my attempts at writing.
Contrary to my fears, I didn’t become the laughingstock of Medium. Instead, my articles flowed freely, leading me to my 120th piece. By then, I was already coaching and realized my experiences could resonate with a broader audience.
Calculating that I averaged 500 words per article, I recognized that 120 pieces equated to 60,000 words—a book in the making!
Chapter 2: Beyond Fame
Although I don’t earn a living from Medium, I cherish my time here, enjoying the supportive community and the therapeutic aspect of writing.
As I continued writing on Medium, my book’s pages filled up with ease, creating a parallel journey of growth. In the past decade, I’ve experienced multiple relocations, traveled to 37 countries, endured heartbreaks, and achieved educational milestones.
How do I encapsulate 36 years of personal evolution? Through a book, of course. While some aspire for fame and influence, I believe we all have the capacity to impact those around us through kindness, our work, and our stories. Would I love to be as renowned as J.K. Rowling? Absolutely. Yet, I’d be content if my book inspired just 100 individuals to act on my life lessons.
The video titled "Finding a Sample Proportion and the Corresponding Confidence Interval" helps clarify statistical concepts that can enhance your writing and storytelling skills.
Chapter 3: The Power of Intention
After composing 30,000 words that formed my book, I feel a sense of accomplishment. Currently, as I edit, the shadows of imposter syndrome linger, prompting me to reaffirm my self-worth each morning.
Even if my editor critiques my work, I take pride in having achieved something significant. Just a year ago, I was employed and questioned whether this was the trajectory of my life.
If I can do it, so can you. It may sound cliché, but I share this not to persuade you to write a book, but to illustrate how your life can transform if you set clear intentions.
If writing a book is in your plans, remember that 100 words a day can lead to an eBook. Last year, I was overwhelmed by two monitors and constant headaches. This year, I see myself as an artist brimming with ideas—not yet starving.
Isn’t that what life should be about? Fulfillment? We often focus too much on financial gain. Call me an idealist, but I’m enriching my soul, one word at a time. As long as I have access to caffeine, I’m content.
