A Fresh Direction in My Writing Journey

Chapter 1: Reconnecting with You
Hello again! You might be curious about my recent absence or why my name hasn't appeared in your notifications as often. There are a few reasons for this, which I’d like to share now.
This paragraph will result in an indented block of text, typically used for quoting other text.
Section 1.1: Shifting My Focus
When I say I'm changing things up, I don't mean I'm stepping away from writing or from Medium itself. Instead, I'm looking to alter both the content I create and my approach to it. Since I started writing back in November, you've probably come to know me as that fifteen-year-old who shares thoughtful self-improvement pieces. However, that’s not the identity I wish to maintain on this platform.
How many times can I tell you to practice kindness, hit the gym, or reduce screen time? Moving forward, I plan to share more narratives about my own experiences rather than merely focusing on self-improvement advice. To be honest, it has become a bit monotonous, which leads me to my next point.
Section 1.2: Reigniting My Passion
My enthusiasm for self-improvement writing has diminished over time. As I crafted more pieces on the topic, I noticed I was often repeating myself, albeit with slight variations. While these stories have their merits, I realized they lacked a crucial element that I hold dear in writing: my genuine self.
In a few narratives where I've expressed my true feelings, I've noticed not only an uptick in reads and views—which any Medium writer appreciates—but also more meaningful interactions from both acquaintances and strangers. This is why I aspire for my stories to resonate deeply rather than just inform. I want them to touch your heart and prompt reflection on your own life.
I aim to support others through difficult times, not by lecturing, but by connecting as someone relatable. I hope this approach resonates with you as well.
Chapter 2: Reflecting on Memorial Day Weekend
As we celebrate Memorial Day, I can’t help but feel grateful. While this isn't the primary reason for my recent hiatus from Medium, it certainly acted as a hurdle (one that I’ve welcomed). During my time spent enhancing my home's landscaping and enjoying a perfectly grilled hot dog or burger, I’ve had ample opportunity to reflect.
Moreover, attending local events in my community for some Memorial Day festivities has been refreshing! From this contemplation, I've concluded that my writing should evolve, not solely for my benefit but for yours as well.
Well, that’s all I have for you today! To summarize:
I’m transitioning from self-improvement content to life stories (if that can be considered a niche).
- I plan to return to my regular posting schedule.
- Memorial Day weekend has kept me occupied.
Before you leave, I'd appreciate a few claps and a note in the proverbial mailbox. Wishing you a fantastic day!
